  My husband and I stayed at Castaway March 8 - 14. The house was so comfortable and cheerful! I loved the lime green kitchen and all the beachy accents! Since there were only two of us, we each had our own bathroom and plenty of space for our luggage and clothes. I think Castaway would be great for four people, but six would be tight. The bedroom on the right side of the house is quite small - would be OK for small kids.
  
  The location of Castaway is great! It's a short walk to the beach, and restaurants are also in walking distance. The street is very nice and quiet. It's also on the bike path.
  
  We would definitely rent this house again. The Mermaids are great!!

  I would like to thank Mermaid Cottages for helping to make my family's New Year vacation a complete success! I was blown away by the fantastic decor of this cottage. The location was unbeatable and the kitchen had everything I needed to serve up fantastic breakfast, lunches, and dinners. The town is wonderful with restuarants nearby and the store right down the street (all walking or biking distance). my dogs loved the cottage also and the neighborhood was quiet and neighbors friendly! I can't wait to go back to Tybee and stay with mermaid Cottages again! Thanks again for making our stay such a pleasurable one. :-)))

  The only thing I would change is the location - had to drive to places we usually walk to - otherwise I would always pick Castaway while on Tybee.Very cute, clean, well stocked down to the spices, and we felt right at home.

    So happy to hear you felt right at home at Castaway! That is the experience we want for all of our guests-"to feel at home away from home". So sorry you had a difficut time with the location. Usually centrally located a few blocks from the beach is easier to get everywhere. On your next visit, just let us know if you prefer to be closer to the lighthouse North end or the downtown shopping area on the South end and we will love to help you with that. See ya next time!!

  My parents and I, and our two little yorkies were looking for an affordable but comfortable trip to the beach this year. My dad usually hates going to the beach, he had only ever been to Daytona and Myrtle Beach. We had to struggle to get him to go, but once we were there he went crazy about our little cottage! We had the most relaxing trip and could not have enjoyed our time at the cottage anymore than we did.
  
  The staff at Mermaid cottages was AMAZING, and even helpful when our car battery died one day at the beach. We could not be more thankful for their kindness.

  The only thing that could possibly be improved is the water pressure in the shower. It took forever to rinse shampoo out of your hair..the water was just a trickle. Sink pressure in the bathroom was fine.

  This was our second time in Castaway Cottage and the location is excellent. Loved everything except the sofa which had a musty smell and very uncomfortable. Bedrooms could use more comfortable mattresses....but overall the stay was wonderful

  We had a great trip to the Castaway in Tybee. This was the family's first week long stay and we can not wait to come back again. The cottage was perfrect for the family (Mom, Dad, 2 small boys ages 3 and 1). We had to do a little babyproofing for the 1
  year old but my 3 year old got a kick out of all the nooks filled with interesting things. The location is an easy walk to the beach with the help of our wagon. All in all a great experience.

  We couldn't have been happier with both the cottage and the helpfulness of the staff. The cottage was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for 6 adults. The Mermaid people were incredibly helpful, from putting shades in the bedroom windows before we got there when we expressed concern about it being too light, to bringing us more hangers half an hour after we asked for them. It was great to be able to walk back and forth from the beach. Thank you for helping us to have a great vacation.

  This property and the staff from Mermaid Cottages was fabulous. 3 colorful bedrooms, 2 baths (one perfect for someone who cann't climb over a bathtub) and a sunny fun sleeping porch make this the perfect cottage for a family or a couple. My husband and I were so confortable, the beds were cozy and the kitchen was equiped. Plenty to do on Tybee and the surrounding areas. The best dinner was at Sundaze Cafe (amazing) and we were glad to see that the North Beach restaurant was back in business. I'd recommend Mermaid's David as he was extremely responsive to our requests. Go and Enjoy!

  We were extremely pleased with everything in the cottage. Location, decor, and layout was wonderful. The only disappointment we had was a ball jar almost fell on my head when I closed a kitchen cabinet and then the owner's charged us an overpriced amount for it. We understand that it probably wouldn't have fallen if we weren't there but it wasn't like we were slamming the cabinets either. We would definitely stay there again but we would remove anything breakable on those shelfs.

• This was the very best vacation we have ever had!!!! Tha way we just arrived and went to the castaway house and were able to begin our stay without paperwork or check-in problems was the greastest of all. Great job to all staff of the mermaids!!!!!

  A few things. The small 3rd bedroom didn't have a working light. Also, we didn't have a plug for the bathtub (we had toddlers and needed to set up a bath). Overall, a nice, clean, and comfortable place.

  We were so pleased with our stay here. It was all we were hoping for and more - with only one disappointment: The photos on the web showed the sun room with a futon which made us feel this was perfect for us 4 "girls." But when we arrived, the sunroom no longer had a futon - and instead had a window bench installed. We no longer had a 4th bedroom, and my sister and I had to share a bed. It was our only disappointment, and we all agree that you should update your photos and description to match what is actually offered. Otherwise, it was a perfect weekend.

  It'a really hard to have a Stay vacation because you always think why stay so close to home, but I want to tell you I had the best vacation ever just staying 20 minutes from my home on Wilmington Island. Staying on Tybee I choose to contact Mermaid Cottages and that was the best thing I could have done. Mermaid Cottages made me believe in customer service again, the staff was over and above accommodating. I will suggest Mermaid Cottages to anyone planning on staying on Tybee Island, and I feel like they have become friends. The Best!!!!   We made last minute plans to go to Tybee for the weekend, and Denise, Diane, Betty and everybody else from Mermaid helped to make our weekend wonderful. The Castaway is in a central, quiet location, right on the bike route, and two blocks from the beach. The cottage was very well-appointed and maintained and UNBELIEVABLY clean. My husband and kids enjoyed the cable TV, and I enjoyed the peace of the sun room for evening reading. We all would have been happier if we could have stayed longer! I've already recommended Mermaid to our homeschool community. Peace!
