  Absolutely charming beach house with a short walk to the ocean. Just far enough from the party action and younger crowd on the south end of the island to be relaxing and quiet. Our age range was 21 to 71 and all were happy. We would definitely stay here again!

  We spent last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at A Mermaid's Tale. It is everything you would want a vacation rental to be. The lay out of the house is perfect for our family's needs. It is a short walk to the beach, and there are many places to eat near by if you do not want to cook. We hope to come back next year.

  Our family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving get away at Tybee Island this past Thanksgiving. We were lucky to have some very mild weather and enjoyed exploring and walking on beaches and on streets (the latter with the dogs who are not invited on the beach--boo too!). Our home was charming, clean and very nicely decorated. There were many nice, welcoming touches and most of all our hosts were meticulous in making sure everything was okay. They even provided a Weber grill for my husband to smoke our turkey in (even though the home came with a big gas grill, too), providing a disposable baking pan, et al.....very thoughtful!

  Loved the cottage...Comfortable, clean and provided everything we needed. The only thing I would recommend would be a better front porch light. We had the heat on and the vent in the front bathroom was shooting out dust or something. You might want to clean it. Overall it was great....

  We had a wonderful time at this home. The house was a good size for our family, location was great. The home was nicely decorated with tons of Mermaids! The only downside for us - no grassy area for our pets, and water in the house had a horrible smell
  for several days, almost like rotten eggs. This was not a deal breaker for us, but it was not pleasant. We did not notice this smell on the last day there (maybe we just got used to it) and the water stains on the ceilings were definately noticeable. We had
  a storm come through and lost power for 5 hours in the middle of the night. The flashlight in the kitchen did not work. We will probably stay at this home again, because the size of the home accommodated our family very well. This is our second stay at a Mermaid
  Cottage and will not be our last. The folks at Mermaid Cottage are great about checking in with you to make sure you have everything you need for our stay. That is a plus for me. We have recommended Mermaid Cottages to all our friends and will continue to
  do so.

    THank you for you for letting us know about the smell and we have alerted our housekeepers to make sure it has gone away. A double check on our flashlights in all of our cottages is now in progress. The roofer is addressing the roof but the ceiling cannot be repainted until the roof has been checked again. Thank you for helping us improve the guest experiences and we are so glad you did not let these things deter your enjoyment of A Mermaid's Tale and your stay on Tybee.   A Mermaid's Tale is a beautiful cottage. It was extremely clean and well stocked for our group of seven. There is even a brand new gas grill. The beds were very comfortable. There were enough bathrooms that we weren't getting in each other's way. You need to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to another, but there is an outside door, so we could avoid waking the teens too early. The walk to the beach does involve crossing a pretty major road, but the law dictates stopping for pedestrians. I would have been just a little nervous about that with little ones, but even my 83 year old father had no trouble at all. I would want to stay at this cottage again if I were to return to Tybee Island.

  Enjoyed our stay on Tybee Island. Mermaid's Tale cottage had all the convenience of home. Six adults and 3 children stayed there and eventhough the house is not overly large we found there was space enough for everyone. It's an easy walk to the beach and my 2-year old granddaugter injoyed our walk to the YMCA playground in the evenings.

  Loved the little extras like the q tips in the bathrooms and kitchen equipment although you need some better measuring spoons and cups. Also loved having the beach cart and umbrella and extra chairs in the back. Sadly when I walked in the house there must've been about 12-15 palmetto bugs (big roaches) that were belly up. Guess you must've just sprayed. Anyway I swept them up and I saw only 1 or 2 during the stay. Bet it's hard to get rid of them at the beach. Had a great time on Tybee Island. The computer tech had to come twice to work on the wifi but am so happy he could fix the problem.

  We came to Tybee for a friend's wedding (Tybee Island Chapel) and the bride recommended we rent through Mermaid Cottages. Everything in A Mermaid's Tale was exactly as described on the website and the house was immaculate upon our arrival! The mermaids more than accomodating to our special needs (early check-in and late check-out) and the house was the perfect spot for our crew. The men were also very pleased with how well the air conditioner worked! We had a full-house and our beach wedding vacation would not have been the same if we had stayed anywhere else. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

  We had 3 couples and 2 singles with us and never felt crowded. Check-in was a berrze. We arrived early evening and didn't have to race to an office to check in. 2 night minimum suited our needs better than 3. I will recommend Mermaid Cottages to everyone.

  We recently spent 5 wonderful days at A Mermaid's Tale on Tybee Island. Arrival is really simplified by use of a lockbox on the door. The cottage was very clean and was stocked as promised. It is only a 5 minutes walk from a very nice beach. The Mermaid Cottages people were very helpful and answered any questions we had by email. Someone called soon after our arrival to make sure everything was OK. The cottage is well laid out with a large living room, convenient kitchen, and 3 well appointed bedrooms. We had 6 adults and 2 children there, and we had plenty of room. The cottage is very tastefully decorated and quite charming. We plan to come again. My only complaints are that the icemaker in the refrigerator does not work well, and the outside gas grill is in poor shape. The insides are rusted away, and the grill grates are rusty. I couldn't believe it worked, but it did. The grill needs repair and the grill grates replaced. Otheer than that, we have only praise for the cottage and the company. We had a very nice time.
