  • Ready for the pickin' - usually around Nobember! So some for the Spring -watch them bloom and come back for the picking!

  • Lovely comfy screened porch. Sit and relax and watch the people go by!
  • The yard has fruit trees including fig and citrus. Yours for the picking!
  • Yummy!
  • Just 4 short blocks away - get up - make a pot of "Mermaid Morning Bliss" coffee and head to the beach to catch the sunset! Not an early riser? Sunset is only a few blocks away at the Back River!
  • The Back River beaches and Fishing pier are just a short 5 minute walk or bike ride from the cottage.
  • The owners of this wonderful cottage named this cottage after all of the wonderful memories they have of beach times! Don't you love their sign - fashioned after a retro post card? This sign greets you as you pull up!
  • This is the view as you walk through the door! The kitchen is to the right - see the doorway pass the flat screen it is fully equipped with everything you need - the dining area is ahead and to your right through the dining area is yet another great den! Plenty of room for the family to be together - or spread out!

  • Family room with with non-working fireplace - the owner has a lovely pot with lights and shells for ambiance! sit back and read a book here! Also a desk if you actually have to work - but why? You are on Tybee Time! Free wi-fi!
  • Through that door - the second bathroom with large shower with rain water heads -our guests love - also full sized energy-efficient washer and dryer - then out to the large back screened porch! To the right passed the lamp is the third bedroom with Queen bed and an extra twin bed.
  • The family room features lots of seating, books, games and TV. It is adjacent to the dining room with an opening to the kitchen to keep the cook in touch with the activity. The fireplace is non-working however has a great pot with shells and lights to add ambiance!
  • All over the cottage you will find local art and color! This is the mantel in den/family room.
  • lots of books and games to share!
  • Set up your laptop and enjoy our free wi-fi!
  • Totally restored kitchen is off the family room. The open floorplan is great to enjoy family while cooking a meal!
  • The kitchen has all the conveniences of home including a dishwasher - and Mermaid Morning Bliss coffee!
  • Don't you love how the homeowners kept the charm of a 1950's cottage - however made it light and airy and fully functional?!
  • We stock the cottage kitchen with coffees, spices even honey from the Savannah Bee Company- our local nationally known honey!
  • Ohh so pet friendly - look the dog toy is a MERMAID!!
  • Comfy Queen bed awaits you after a long day of fun and sun at the beach!
  • This Queen Bedroom is relaxing and calm as any good "harbor" should be.
  • In typical Tybee "reuse and restore" fashion - an original door from this cottage has been turned into the headboard!
  • The Conched Out bedroom features 1 queen bed. An old Tybee door is your headboard! Yet another fun touch in this great cottage. The sign above is from one of our local artists which reads TYBEE!

1411 Jones Avenue, Tybee Island, GA 31328 This fully renovated cottage faces East and is hidden behind a canopy of grapefruit , orange, fig and lime trees. No smoking - even on the porches, please. This mid-century, all-electric home has been restored using the "reduce, reuse and recyle" concepts. The owners were as "green" as possible - the "Energy Star" high efficiency washer, dryer, refrigerator, bamboo blinds; and all the rooms have ceiling fans to circulate the air inside and all light bulbs are CFL. We do have an outdoor shower ( solar powered) but it is NOT enclosed- but still a great hot and cold outdoor shower. The original 1950's bathroom is still Mamie Eisenhower pink which was the color of choice for the women of the 1950's. The 2nd bathroom is a large walk in shower with rain forest shower head. Our guests love this shower!!! This cottage is the beach home of a couple from Tennessee who had discovered Tybee a few years ago . This beach haven reminded them of the shore towns they had visited as a children. The home is a summary of the owners' love of the ocean, coastal south and the wonderful memories they have from trips to the beach. They look foward to sharing their cottage with others who need a peaceful retreat to rejuvenate and create Memories at the Beach with their family and friends.

    There were a few things missing from Memories. The website description said "outdoor shower" but it wasn't an enclosed shower. That's my #1 priority in choosing a home. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. Home could have used a drying line and a front/side yard
    hose. Otherwise wonderful house--roomy, cool (loved the fans), well appointed

    We had a wonderful stay at Memories at the Beach. The cottage was clean, cozy and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the towels were soft and fluffy, and everytime I looked around at the decor, I saw something new and cute that I had not noticed before. We all loved it, including our dog, Rosie, who loved relaxing on the cool tile floor.

    The cottage was very homey & charming. The kithchen was fairly well stocked (we bought a spatula as we could not find one). My only complaint there were no empty cabinets in the kitchen to store our non-refrigerated food for the week. Suggestion to cleaning staff....the tile floors need mopped occasionally. Ceiling fans in every room added to the comfort and charm of the cottage.

    The kids were able to have their space in the 2nd living room and we all enjoyed both porches very much! All of the extra kitchen spices were great and saved us from having to buy everything when we wanted to grill seafood. We loved the convenient location and walked everywhere. The cottage was very comfortable (the beds were awesome!) and felt like home! I would make one suggestion for the bathroom in the back of the house to have a couple of hooks on the door for an additional place to hang bath towels or for those guests with hanging organizers (since counter space is limited). We loved this cottage and would love to stay there again..we made great memories, especially with our late night monopoly games! Thank you to the owners for sharing such a wonderful home away from home and thanks again Mermaids for providing wonderful (and budget friendly) vacations! We have always been so grateful for your dedication to providing great accomodations without breaking the bank, something I'm sure many people can appreciate in times like these. It's why we keep coming back! We will see you next year!

    The cottage was perfect for vacationers who were visiting with their dogs since the floors were tiled and the back yard fenced. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 Norfolk terriers, who really enjoyed the visit. The comfortable beds, screened in front and back porches, comfortable furniture, fireplace, dining area, front yard furniture, all made for a relaxing & enjoyable vacation. At night it was an easy place to find with the blue lamp light. It was 4-short blocks to "Sting Ray", a very good seafood restaurant. The kitchen was well stocked with everything one would need, if they were cooking. Our description does not adequately describe the quaint nicities of this vacation location. Should we come your way again we would certainly request this same property again.
