Skipjack Cottage will bring back childhood memories of visiting a favorite family beach house for the summer! Skipjack Cottage is the perfect beach house for nostalgia lovers and lovers of all things vintage (who also love the beach!) This vintage circa1929 raised southern-style beach house offers everything you can think of for an unforgettable beach vacation! Whether a family holiday, girlfriends’ getaway, work retreat or couples’ romantic weekend, Skipjack Cottage should be your first choice! This historic beach house features original wood paneling and wood ceilings, hardwood floors and all the ambiance you can imagine! Beautifully preserved and restored, this kind of historic, original construction provides a much richer experience than a typical beach hotel or new home; this vintage beach home holds so much history and memories and offers a very special place for making your own beach memories! And, it’s a special place that we can imagine guests will want to visit over and over as they make lasting memories and watch their families grow up visiting this beach home again and again! The wood-paneled walls envelop you in a cozy feeling of relaxation and history as you imagine how good life was for those who called this place home so many years ago.
Up the stairs on the front of the house, the outside features a wonderful, expansive front porch with comfortable furniture and porch swing for enjoying those Tybee nightcaps or your Mermaid Morning Bliss coffee! There's also a large screened side porch with lots of comfortable outdoor furniture and table and chairs for dining al fresco!
The kitchen has beautiful white glass front cabinets and all of the modern amenities needed including your very own icemaker! Simple and elegant, you can prepare a Tybee seafood feast or a simple beach picnic. All brand-new stainless steel appliances and granite countertops give you all the modern conveniences in a beautiful, historic beach cottage!
The living area features beautiful, richly stained wood paneled walls and ceiling, fireplace, lots of very comfortable furnishings and flat screen TV.
Throughout this home, beautiful antique furniture pieces mingle with new pieces in a perfect mix of today and yesterday!
This cottage features 3 full bedrooms on the upper level all with queen beds. One full bath with claw foot tub and shower and an additional half bath.
Heading down to the “street” level, there is a very large open area which stores beach chairs, umbrellas and everything else you need for a fun beach stay!
Additionally, and one of our most favorite features, is a lighted pathway leading to the outdoor shower! You have to see it to appreciate it! Covered on top and sides with beautiful foliage, it’s a private, romantic setting with the overhead lighting.
Additionally, at this street level there are 2 additional bedrooms and another bath. One of these bedrooms features a double bed and other bedroom at this downstairs street level features a daybed with trundle (two twin beds).
Laundry room is also on ground level with brand new washer and dryer!

You will absolutely love this house! You will love how close you are to the beach. Down 13th Lane, you are just 5 houses from the beach (an easy walk to the private beach access); you can get a glimpse of the beach as you stand in front of this beautiful home! Just a short walk to the sun, the sand and the beautiful ocean!

    Due to hurricane damage that hadn't been completely fixed on our original rental, the management company moved us to Skipjack. This was perfect for our family. All the kids got their own room, which they loved. We were even closer to the beach and shops. We all loved the pool table and had several competitions during our stay. Unfortunately, it was unseasonably cold for most of our stay so we didn't get to enjoy the screened porches or beach as much as we would have liked. The management company was always there when needed and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
