  The property was clean, very pretty colors that made the girls so happy. It was surprising how convient the house was to the beach and the grocery store. It was quiet and great for sleeping. I was amazed at how well stocked the kitchen was for cooking utensils and dishes. You do not need to bring anything with you. I will definitely be renting this location again.

  We were very pleased with our stay. It's spacious inside and has 4 bedrooms that were each comfortable. Upstairs is a little tight and there were a few too many creeks on the stairs, upstairs floors and king bed upstairs, but that was our only complaint. The place was spotless and our family enjoyed the time there. Neighborhood was quiet and offered a safe place for a relaxing jog as well. Two blocks from the beach!

  Carol was amazing and helped me plan my trip every step of the way - my sisters and I had a fabulous long weekend with my mom to celebrate her 75th birthday and also the last of her chemo treatments. Carol and Diane made it all possible with advise, encouragement and also served as our own personal concierge service. These ladies know the area and the ins and outs and really bent over backwards to make this trip one of the best I have ever had! Love you ladies and I will be recommending you to everyone and I plan on coming back!

  House was very nicely decorated. Loved the Christmas decorations. It made the cottage almost as nice as being home for Christmas. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was nicely appointed. Little extras left in the house were a pleasant surprise. Faux fireplace added great ambiance to our holiday visit and made nice photos.

Within fifteen minutes someone was there to fix the problem. The next day the owners had a brand new range delivered... just in case! That's why we always stay with Mermaid Cottages.   Gathered family from CA,IL,GA,for a 2 week event. OUR BEACH RETREAT was perfect. Casual decor and easy living concept made us feel at home. Early mornings sitting in pool drinking coffee was a wonderful way to start the day. The addition of another MERMAID rental across the street was wonderful. 5 stars to all the Mermaids! We have a treasured memory of Tybee and plan on repeating in the future.

  Our daughter and granddaughter went with us from Virginia, and our son and his family who live in Florida met us there. There were 8 of us, and the house was spacious enough to accomodate us all comfortably and to give each of us a quiet place to be alone to read, rest, nap, meditate or just be still and enjoy the ambiance. The beach was wonderful! It was just a short easy walk away with a lovely deck at the top of the dunes walk and a porch swing just past the dunes to sit and enjoy nature and people watching. The beach was clean with soft sand, gentle waves and lots of room for building sand castles, sun bathing, napping under the umbrellas and flying our kites. There were lots of sites to see and places to go on Tybee Isand and in Savannah. Something for everyone -- Just not enough time for anyone! WE LOVED IT!

  Lots of good things about this rental - location, pool, size of rooms (plenty of space and good seating in dining room & living room), kitchen amenities (lots of dishes, silverware, tools). We have rented this property once before and found it dirtier this time (floor left our socks pretty soiled); evidence of water damage in upstairs bedrooms was noted.

  We had the best time on vacation that we have had in several years. This was a frat house in a great neighborhood. We rode bikes most of the week and kept them in our front yard at night....still there every morning.

  Had a great week at Tybee, and this cottage provided the comfy,laid back atmosphere we were hoping for. Met up with our three adult children and their spouses/significant others Under the Tybee Sun and everyone hated to see the week come to an end. We will cherish the conversations on the back porch as well as the card games at the dining room table and the long bike rides all around Tybee. the location of this cottage is fabulous, close to everything but quiet and private as well. My only complaint is is that I wish the back yard were either all hardscaped or better grass/sod put down. The weird sandy dirt kept sticking to our feet so we swept constantly and it also got tracked into the pool easily. We feel we had a true Tybee experience by choosing this older but updated and beautifully decorated cottage. The ladies from Mermaid Cottages were great, and we enjoyed chatting with the pool lady too!

  We were in Tybee for the Paint Tybee Pink event and decided to make a mini-vacation out of the weekend with family and friends. This house was perfect for a large group! There was plenty of room for everyone! The house was immaculate and had all the conveniences of home. Having the pool in the backyard was a special added plus for the kids and for the adults to sit in and cool off. The fenced in backyard space was very suited for our dogs to walk around outside. The table/bar/grill area was also very nice for hanging out. There was plenty of beach supplies for the kids and adults. The beach was a quick block and 1/2 walk and shopping was also within walking distance. I would HIGHLY recommend this cottage and Mermaid cottages.

  I planned this surprise vacation for my husband, he deserved it after all the hard work he does throughout the year!
  What an exceptional surprise, Basking under the Tybee Sun vacation home, was more than I could have ever asked for!!! Denise and Diane with Mermaid cottages started the wonderful process off with there professional and caring attitude, checking on us throughout our stay. The home was beautiful, We were able to take our shoes off and feel fully relaxed. A small walk up the street and there we were on beautiful Tybee beach. The home was clean, accomodating and beautiful on the inside and out. We were able to swim in the pool and have cook-outs at the outside bar area.
  Tybee Island is close to our hearts and we definately will be back.

  My family and I really enjoyed our stay here, and would come back in a heartbeat. The house was older, but very well kept and updated. The pool was very nice to have, though it tended to get dirty after a bad storm. We loved walking to the beach, especially
  in the evening, and hearing the roar of the ocean as we passed the dunes. Would recommend that some inexpensive stepping stones be placed along the sides of the pool to keep the dirt from being kicked up and washed into the pool, and fixing the water damage
  to the paneling and ceiling in the upstairs bedroom.

  My husband, 3 small children, parents and myself stayed in this great cottage just last week. The cottage was in a great location within walking distance of the beach. The outdoor shower was a wonderful amenity especially with the children to wash all the sand and salt away. We spent a large amount of time on the outdoor back porch and in the pool. The house was clean, decorated great (my kids loved all the fish), and the kitchen had EVERYTHING that you needed to cook or back just about anything. My husband, who was hesitant to come to the beach, was alreay talking about coming back to stay next summer. Thank you for all the great memories.

  I can honestly say (and I speak for my family as well!) that this was one of the most memorable occasion we have spent together as a family. The Henery, Kelly and Richardson family came to honor Chelsea...she graduated from
  SCAD with a BFA in Illustration/Advertising. We had a bit of heaven in the Mermaid Cottage "Basking Under the Tybee Sun". The location was perfect...near the beach yet close enought to go in Savannah. When we arrived everything was pristine and even more than I hoped for. We enjoyed the pool! The house and grounds are perfect in many ways - the pool that wraps around the porch affords a constant relaxing splish splash - and makes swimming for the kids easy on us adults. The house is very comfortably appointed and charming. It's design fosters an easy settling in; after just a little while there, it feels like home. It's an easy walk to the beach - and 7th street peer is quiet and family oriented.
  The Mermaids are outstanding hosts; they are always available; called to check on us and ask if we needed anything; and present constant good old-fashioned Savannah graciousness.

  We had a wonderful stay at Basking Under the Tybee Sun. The house was beautiful and we really felt at home. The walk to the beach was not far and the beach buggy was really convenient. We stayed with our two teenagers and our two dogs and it was a very stress free, relaxing stay for everyone. Our two dogs loved the house, too, especially the screened front and back porches. They would sit and watch people forever. We rented bikes and rode all over the island for two days. It was so much fun. We had a wonderful experience with Mermaid Cottages and HIGHLY recommend them. We will stay with them when we visit next time. Love, love, loved the house and the service they provided.

  We generally come at least once a year to Tybee. This was, by far, the most comfortable place in which we've stayed. I fell and injuried my knee just before we unloaded the car and the Mermaid Staff responded to my needs immediately. After a 3 hour stint in a Savannah ER, the cottage was a welcome sight when I returned to the island. The cottage was perfect for all of us - ages 7 months to 67 years. The house had wide enough doors to accommodate my walker and the beds were oh so comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of cookware and my son and granddaughter even took a dip in the pool before the weather turned too cool to do so. I never did see the upstairs but my two granddaughters enjoyed being up there away from the grownups. All and all, the time at Tybee created more fond memories of that wonderful island.

  It was a wonderful girl’s getaway week in Tybee. There were 5 girls including myself that came from Iowa for the week to getaway for a little while. We had a blast on the island. Not only were the people on the island so nice to us but the weather was amazing. The house we stayed in was prefect. We will be back again and we will defiantly stay with Mermaid Cottages again.
