  We had a lovely time at Fiddler on the Creek. The cottage did not disappoint. We absolutely loved the quaintness of it, the beautiful linens on the comfortable beds, and the many antique pieces of furniture! Our two favourite things were the adorable tea set that we used every morning, and the chaise lounge on the back step that we spent a lot of time on enjoying the cool mornings. We enjoyed our morning tea/coffee overlooking the creek as the sun rose. The cottage had a great location, very close to everything but far enough away from any kind of business. The only criticism I had was about the location. We found out that there was a 4H club across the water from us and were surprised at the noise level that came from their facilities. As a teacher, I am not sensitive to noisy kids, but on my holidays I was hoping to escape from the sounds of my classroom!
  
  Regardless, we loved our time at Fiddler on the Creek! At one point, I did actually get my fiddle out and play some music at the cottage as it seemed fitting given the name of the cottage! Can't wait to come back to Tybee! Will definitely look up Mermaid Cottages again! Thank you so much.

  We loved the cottage. It had everything that we needed, including loads of interesting books and CD's. The cottage was immaculate. It was the perfect escape after a hectic holiday season.   I am emailing you a poem I wrote. It was awesome! I loved it. Loved it. Dolphins came by and birds birds birds. Fun kitty. Perfect. I'm only mentioning a few things that may make it even better: a) a down comforter- then I'd use less heat :) b) a map of tybee on the coffee table c) there are 2 stuffed/preserved fish on the wall in the living room. they are really old and peeling at this point. i think they take away from the lovely vibe in this special cottage- just a thought to update them with something else or just leave that wall blank d) fyi, the stereo in the bedroom didn't work - that's it- i'm only offering those details so you'd know. i'm sending you my poem- i'd love for you to share with the owner :)

  We were looking for something different for a few relaxing days and were not disappointed. We did not miss oceanfront views as we enjoyed the rise and fall of the tidal creek, the sounds of the oysters clacking and watching the heron that arrived every evening to catch fish in front of the cottage's dock. An added bonus was seeing our lab mix get to swim for the first time. The cottage is very comfortable; we loved the bedroom with its view of the creek. Mermaid Cottages thought of everything. They provided items that we normally do not find in rentals and were very responsive when called. They do not forget about your pets either. There are dog bowls, treats and tags that you can use in case your pet decides to go out on its own to explore the island. Very professional and refreshing. Thanks for sharing this great cottage.

  We loved this cottage so much! Pictures could never show how serene the outdoor space is there, or how big the dock actually is. The location is perfect for accessing the rest of the island and then retreating "home" each day. We had bikes (and kayaks!) delivered and never used the car during the whole week we were there! Local favorites were of course the seaside sisters, and the sundae cafe. AJ's too for seafood. But mostly we enjoyed making big breakfasts in the little kitchen and even grilled out one night. We lacked for nothing at the cottage. Also Diane was so great; always available and helpful with Tybee information.

Our favorite spot was the dock where we could watch the tides going in and out and the blue heron who roosted every night in the same tree at the same time every night. There were no washcloths in the cottage but luckily we had brought a couple so it was no problem. It was a peaceful and restful vacation. Thank you.

  We fell absolutely in love with Fiddler on the Creek! This adorable little cottage was the perfect place for us to truly relax. The quaintness and quirky charm of the cottage made us feel like we were visiting an old friend's house. We loved spending evenings on the little back porch, talking and breathing in the salty air. The marsh was perfect for kayaking and the beach was a nice 15 minute walk. We were so sad to leave Tybee Island and our temporary little home on the marsh! We look forward to coming back one day!

  We enjoyed our stay and loved the property! We tried to get some extra linens and towels half way through the week, as we forgot to supplement with our own. May want to make renters aware up front that there is no washer dryer. Perhaps I just overlooked it. That was tricky, but if known upfront I probably would have just brought a few extra bath/beach towells. We definitely hope to visit again.

Also, although many guests request Fiddler on the Creek for it's coziness and awesome dock and sunset views, it does not have a washer/dryer. We have lots of cottages; a larger one with a washer/dryer (most of our cottages do have washer/dryer) may better meet your needs. Call us!   Fiddler was everything we expected from the info on the Mermaids' website - an ideal location in an absolutely charming cottage. We felt completely at home. Breakfasts on the dock were a highlight. The privacy afforded by the dead-end street and ample surrounding vegetation was perfect. Being able to escape the frenetic pace of the strand was a gift.   We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with our first trip ever to Georgia - never heard of Tybee Island until I searched VRBO and the Savannah area for our trip. In 30 years together, you have a lot of great vacations - this was one of the absolute BEST!!! The cottage was perfect for us; we are very low maintenance, so we were thrilled with it for it's many charms and unconcerned about the very few flaws.(think the cottage would GAIN charm by the deletion of the big blue fake swordfish on the living room wall - I'm just sayin'). The screen porch (and that wonderful wicker lounge) was our favorite spot. The deck and view were terrific. Sunsets across from the front of cottage - gorgeous (look for the endangered Wood Stork!)The bedroom was lovely and very comfortable. The CD collection was superbly diverse - we enjoyed it so much! Tybee Island was great to explore and had many beautiful areas and cool restaurants. South Beach our favorite and so beautiful at low tide!!! People were incredibly friendly -whether natives of Tybee, European travelers, bartenders, "Sea Kayak Georgia" staff, Tim's bike rentals, Crab Cab drivers, neighbors near the cottage, etc. etc. We have rented vacation properties in the U.S. and abroad for 30 years. We have NEVER experienced anything like the customer service provided by Mermaid Cottages. Not just in preparing us for our trip, but being so incredibly available while we were there! It was absolutely unprecedented in our experience. WE LOVE THE MERMAIDS!!!
  
  Specifics of what would have made the stay just a tad more convenient: a larger frying pan or skillet for breakfasts. Just a small stock of herbs for cooking at home: e.g. Italian seasoning, dill, parsley, cinammon lemon/pepper. A box fan which would have been cheaper for you than the A/C if we had the option. hmmmm.... just really very little that we needed, so no complaints but those things would've helped.

  Fiddler on the Creek was clean, quiet while being thoughtfully furnished and stocked, from doggie biscuits to sewing kit. Service was good and a problematic wifi router was quickly replaced. The bathroom was a little problematic, as the shower was cramped and the hot water ran out quickly. Overall, I would rate my experience very high at the cottage and would not hesitate to recommend it to both family and friends.

  Fiddler on the Creek cottage was a sweet little cottage. The location made for a perfect getaway. Far enough from the nightlife for some quiet time yet still close enough to ride our bikes to the beach! Also, plenty of room for parking. The decor inside the cottage is rustic, shabby chic. A small screened in porch with a view of the marsh. Then a fabulous dock jetting out into the tidal creek. We spent every morning drinking our coffe on the dock. Then every night we enjoyed a cold beverage out on the dock. We brought our dog - Dylan along and she loved every minute of it! Lying on the dock is just her style! I think this is a great rental for the honeymoon couple, anniversary getaway, or best friend reunion. It is the perfect size for 2 people and maxes out at 3. I will be renting this cottage again in the future!

  This is our third time visiting Tybee and staying at Fiddler on the Creek, and we plan to return for a fourth! The minute you open the door, you are greeted with a fresh, clean scent and spotless floors/bathroom/etc. We experienced the most relaxing vacation yet lounging on the back deck, riding our bicycles on the quiet roads, and walking the beach at sunrise. We also viewed glorious sunsets from the front room. Third time is definitely a charmer :-)

  First time renting a vacation rental versus hotel. Really enjoyed the freedom to be outside on the dock instead of cooped up in a hotel. Did not use the kitchen with so many good places to eat on Tybee Island and Savannah. Peaceful location with the exception of the nearby 4-H camp. Overall, very enjoyable getaway!

We so enjoyed watching the scenery change from looking like a small creek in tall grass to looking like a6 ft deep very wide channel of water that kayak"s and boats were passing by.   The place is small, but comfortable. My wife and I had plenty of room, but we are accustomed to living in a small space as we often spend weekends aboard a sailboat. There is a very nice compact sound system with CD's and a book collection and a comfy
  queen bed. Quality ceiling fans, a window unit in the bedroom and a compact heating/cooling unit in the living room keept us cool and comfortable in 100 degree heat. This is a place for people that enjoy the beauty and tranquility of a healthy salt marsh...simply

  Please let future clients know extra towels are under the bed. It would have helped us . The cottage was just what we needed for a relaxing birthday and 13 year anniversary. We found everything to be just so peaceful and serene. Sitting on the dock , or porch or just relaxing in the house it took all the stress of live away. Everything was clean an neat all the decorations made it pleasant to look at and enjoy. Our first vacation in 13 years together (as we own a photography business)and can rarely get away.   We had a wonderful time, very relaxing on the dock (which is where we spent most of our time); biking; napping; eating; sunning; shopping--all the fun things you do while on vacation! The cottage is on a quiet road and the marsh was spectacular. The cottage needed a deep clean but overall was quite livable (I did some cleaning). It was very quaint and reminded me of the cottage we had as a child growing up in CT. We lost power due to a storm on Sat. night around 9 pm and power was still not on when we left Sun. morning at 10 am. Couldn't be avoided, I'm sure it was fixed that day. We would do this again in a heartbeat!

  The cottage was excellent. Our only regret was that we weren't able to stay longer. On previous trips to Tybee we stayed nearer the beach, and enjoyed our stays, but there is nothing like the quiet tranquility of the creek in the back and the marsh across the street. The dock itself is worth renting out. Truthfully we spent most of our time there outside! It was a wonderful experience, and we'll be back.

  A charming cottage in which we were very comfortable. The shower has great pressure but is not for tall people. The bed was comfy but very squeaky. Not having a kitchen table was a drawback but we mostly ate out. Not a kitchen set up for serious cooking. Really enjoyed the screened in porch and sitting out on the dock, though that dock could use some repairs. Overall, very nice, but not suitable for those looking for luxury, and we weren't, so it was great for us.

  We loved our Tybee Island stay. Fiddler on the Creek was unique in that it was an older beach cottage on the water. We loved that it was unique but must say the air conditioner was not adequate and the street light right outside the bedroom window was like a sunny day in the middle of the night. These problems could be easily fixed by two things: a bigger air unit and shades or heavier weight curtains on the windows. We loved our Tybee Island experience and the Mermaid Cottage team went above and beyond to accomodate the changes we needed to make after a devastating tornado struck our area. Thanks Mermaids! Thanks to Fiddler on the Creek owner!! We would recommend the home provided the two changes mentioned were made and we were sure our friends would be cool and comfortable ... and not kept awake by the street light.

  We absolutely loved our week at the Fiddler on the Creek at Tybee over the Christmas holiday this year. The cottage is so cozy, comfortable, and filled with island charm and character - we felt right at home. With your own marsh side dock right outside your door, it was easy to savor the island's natural environment at any time of day - including the spectacular Winter Solstice lunar eclipse we saw. The location was quiet and very convenient to Tybee's many local sights, beaches, rail trail, Fort Pulaski, and the Lighthouse. We never did eat out but enjoyed cooking our meals in the delightful cottage. Southern hospitality showed its best with the surprise visits from the great local purring gray cat we named "Walks-Right-In." It was truly an awesome and memorable week and we hope to return to Fiddler again soon.

  We loved the cottage. It was decorated with such care and attention to detail. Even the lamps had seahorse finels! The bed and linens were comfy...and best of all the screened porch and also the dock right on the marsh. We bird watched on the dock while eating breakfast and sipping coffee...each morning a huge great blue heron visited and we had an up close view of him...a short walk down the road we saw 10 wood storks! Just a perfect and extremely quiet time...just what we needed. Thanks so much for sharing your piece of Tybee with us!
