  This was our first trip to Tybee Island. I did a little online research and selected Mermaid Cottages as a group to rent a cottage from for our vacation. The pictures online are charming but really do not convey how great the properties are. Our cottage had everything as promised and more. Everything was in great condition and perfect for a beach vacation with a bit of class. Our family loved the visit and look forward to a longer visit in the future.

  Location, cleanliness, all great. I might suggest a little more specifics in directions to get to the property. We arrived at night and the small signs indicating the streets are obstructed by garbage cans and bushes. Very difficult to see at night.

  This cottage is absolute perfection! Of course its best feature is the view. Nothing but dunes and ocean out the east and south windows, you feel surrounded by the water. The pictures on the website are beautiful, but not even they can do this view justice!
  
  The cottage itself is wonderful. Feels like a cottage from days gone by -- so relaxing, but updated with beautiful linens and towels. The colors just make you happy as soon as you enter. The cottage was spotless, I was very impressed with how clean it was especially being on the beach with all that sand! Kitchen was very well equipped and the dishes were again colorful and fun like the rest of the place. It was also great to have a washer/dryer.
  
  The location is wonderful. The beach was not crowded like it was closer to the pier, but it is close to everything. We rented bikes and were able to bike along the beach at low tide and all over the island. It was fun to see all the Mermaid Cottages as we were biking along the streets.
  
  When we had questions the Mermaids got right back to us via email. I really cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our vacation in Tybee. I just wish we didn't live so far away so we could return sooner! But we will be back. We felt completely spoiled.

  Walking into this beautiful nostalgic cottage was refreshing - I think we smelled Suntan Lotion fragrances (welcoming) when we came in (like Sea & Ski when we were kids) but the house was impeccably clean. We loved the old pine walls with the beautiful artwork. And we mostly are concerned if the beds are strong sturdy and comfy-and those options were met with high marks. The Ralph Lauren linens were a welcoming refreshing Plus for us so we felt this should receive high marks. Linens and sleeping and relaxing makes such a huge decision on how you feel and breathe on an anniversary weekend. And this was a '10' in my book instead of a high 5.....just sayin' it was great to have Mermaid coffee bar in the mornings and watch the sun come up over the horizon of the water, spectacular show at 7:00 am and loved the deck and palms blowing as the sun rose over the water. You Mermaids have a crafted out a "niche" market in how you make your guests feel and welcoming them to Tybee. Our first visit to Tybee was wonderful. We visited with locals a great little back river seafood restaurant and we couldn't have been happier with your choice for us in a cottage. Thank you for all of the hospitality. We only wish our adult children could have been with us, they would have loved the remembering the days we had in a nostalgic setting like this when they were little......the pine paneled walls, white billowy curtains, large living room porch and beautiful deck with a 6-seat table for eating outside in the breeze. Wow, thank you for everything you did for us. We'll be back; and this has to be on my list for my next 'GIRLFRIEND'S WEEKEND'........

  Can't believe places like Doyles still exist! It's like grandma's cute little cottage on a million dollar beachfront lot. Too many accolades to list here but I thoroughly encorage anyone who is looking for the ultimate beach vacation to consider Doyles. The only downside is that with all that Tybee has to offer at our doorstep we had a hard time getting out butts off that patio! Guess will have to be more adventurous next time.

  This house is so laid back & comfortable & the location can't be beat! We enjoyed the large front deck & sitting room windows which made it ideal for this mommy with 3 little ones, the youngest being just 7weeks old. I was able to sit in the a/c with a beach view without taking baby out in the heat. The Mermaids were so accommodating & even tipped us off to a sea turtle excavation that was a once in a lifetime experience. We will be back & would stay at Doyle's again in a heartbeat!   The location was ideal. Everyday, we walked out to the beach, staked our spot and easily maneuvered to and fro within a matter of minutes. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep every night. The construction, however, woke us every weekday. Being that we only had one real bathroom (the one in the basement was creepy as it was a musty basement) was difficult when we had family over for a day at the beach. The porch was beautiful and the sunsets were to die for... I would definitely stay again. As we did two different beach houses this year, we really got to see the Mermaids in action. They were a gem. I will only rent from them going forward. They were responsive and very agreeable. A delight to work with...

  Couldn't have been happier with our stay at Doyle's on the Beach! The home was perfect for our family and the location was even better. We had a mix of an 11year old and three teenage children and there was never one word of someone complaining they were bored! The only complaint I have is that we had to leave.   We have stayed at these two cottages (the Doyles or Crabby Jo's) a number of times in the past, and we absolutely love them. We prefer the south end - away from the mobs of people at the pier, plenty of shallow runnels and pools for the little ones to play in, and plenty of parking for our local friends to come out and join us for a day on the beach.
  Doyles on the Dunes did not dissapoint. It has been updated since we last stayed, and we found all the appointments to be nicely done. The A/C works great, the sunroom has wonderful views, and the deck and the deck chairs were perfect for cocktails and watching the stars come out. It is exactly as it was advertised, complete with downstairs showers and laundry. I do wish the property management company had specifically pointed out there was a separate key to access the basement - we assumed for the first day that it was the owner's closet.
  We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning next year.

  We loved the house. Only complaints would be the back door wouldn't lock easily, the washer downstairs kept going out of balance (severely) and there were quite a few bugs in the house. Also, the bathtub would not drain the entire time we were there.

  Doyles is the ideal location on Tybee. You can BE at the beach without ever leaving the deck or the sunroom for that matter! The ocean views are incredible and access to the beach is a step out the door. The ocean practically surrounds the property, providing views from almost every room in the house. The house is clean and well maintained. The towels, bedding, dishes and cookware are all first-rate.The Mermaid staff was never summoned, but I was well aware they would come at a moment's notice if needed. I look forward to returning one day.

  We felt like we'd won the lottery when we arrived at Doyles on the Beach (or "on the Dunes" as the house's sign proclaims). 300 degree views of ocean, dunes, palm trees and Little Tybee from the spacious deck and the living room, water views from 2 of the 3 bedrooms, step off the deck onto the dunes, zero street noise at the end of this private lane. The cottage is artfully decorated in cheerful, well-coordinated colors, with comfortable upholstery, imaginative accessories, thick towels and beautiful linens. We found everything we could possibly want in the kitchen, right down to coffee, filters and sweeteners (OK, so if you wanted to go way over the top, a one-day supply of creamers would really be amazing for those arriving late the first night), and were delighted to find washer and dryer, extra showers and toilet and plenty of room for bike storage downstairs. This is an older family cottage with lots of traditional charm, and we wouldn't change it. That said, visitors should be prepared for the fact that the bedroom sizes don't allow for a king size bed (which would have been great for me and my 6'4" husband), and the cunning and really adorable half bath is fitted into what is also a walk through closet between two bedrooms. It's brilliantly done and the skylight makes it work well--just be ready for something a little quirky! We were there for spring break and were concerned on our first night to see that construction had begun on a house next door (out of the view line to the water, thankfully). We got really lucky, though: the only work they did while we were there the first week of April was pour concrete for the foundation, so we enjoyed the deck in great peace.

  This is a beautiful and restful location. The view is stunning. There is plenty of room for the family to sprawl out and relax. The kitchen was extraordinarily well-stocked. We swam with dolphins right out in front of the cottage! This was just what we were hoping for.

  Tucked into the dunes on the south end of Tybee, Doyle's was THE perfect beach cottage. My bedroom had a beach/ocean view and a subtle glow kind of wake-up call about 15 minutes before sunrise each morning. I got my clothes on and was able to enjoy the sun waking up with sea birds. Heavenly.
  
  Doyle's itself has three bedrooms, a fully-equipped galley kitchen, a spacious dining area, great gathering area and awesome deck.
  
  The Mermaid Cottages are all very cool. Doyle's on the Beach is worth the price for a memory that will last a lifetime.

  Doyles on the Beach is a classic Tybee Beach house. This is the way life on the beach should be. All the rooms are decorated with much loving care. The view of the ocean was breathe taking. We watched the sunrise every morning on the large deck. Also, an unexpected view of Little Tybee was an added surprise from the deck as well. Oh, did I mention it was a full moon during our stay as well. So, we also enjoyed watching the moonrise from our deck as well. We had immediate beach access and were able to grab our surfboards and walk to the surf! A beautiful spot and would be perfect for 3 couples or a large family.

  WOW! I can't say enough about what a perfect location this place is in. Beautiful views of the ocean and beach from the living and sitting rooms, dining room, one of the bed rooms, and the huge deck. The house was perfect and I couldn't imagine a better place to stay. We arrived late on a Friday night, and by Saturday afternoon, the property management company was calling to ensure that we arrived without problem and to check to see if we needed anything. It was completely unexpected and a great touch. Thanks!!

  We loved every minute of our stay. We would have given every question 5 stars except we have two suggestions: For guests staying in colder weather, it would be nice to have light blankets. The PVC chaise loinges could use more comfortable cushions, or a couple of more comfortable outdoor chaises overall.

  A fantastic location and classic beach house make for a great time on Tybee Island! The view of the beach from the huge deck has to be among the best on Tybee. You're a few steps away from the ocean, and just a few blocks from the restaurants and nightlife.
  The huge sun room gives the same panoramic view from the inside as from the deck. Very comfortable throughout the house. And a class-A organization running things.

  Location, location, location. Hard to beat the views in this cottage, with a nice deck to enjoy them from, or a quick walk through the dunes to the beach. Sunrise with coffee on the deck is a must. The only drawback is that for the price, you might expect a bit more luxury inside the house. But if a cute little cottage on the beach is your thing, then this is your spot.
