  • When you walk in the front door, you walk into the old porch which has been enclosed and now the front sun room. Fully heated and air conditioned.
  • The room is full of wicker, comfy chairs, vintage trunks from the 1940's and shell wreaths. Bamboo blinds and linen curtains cover the windows
  • We have two vintage french blue shutters on either side of the front door.

  • The sun room included original art from local artists.
  • The windows overlook the front garden and a very small view of the Back River. The cottage is directly across the street from the water and you can see the water between the houses and trees across the street.
  • The great room is a combination of the living room, dining room and open kitchen. Hardwood floors everywhere. The fireplace is an electric fireplace. You walk in from the sunroom directly into the "great" room. This is the center of the room with the slipcovered seating and the electric fireplace.
  • The dining room table seats 8 people and has a classic crystal chandelier hanging above the table. The Chandelier came from an old historic house in downtown Savannah
  • The original book shelfs are filled with books, sea shells and other finds from the Tybee and Little Tybee beaches
  • The living room wall is full of vintage bird and flower pictures many of them Gould prints ( John Gould drew in similair fashion to Audoboun)
  • The big open room looking towards then and the stairs to go to the upstairs bedrooms
  • The fireplace mantel has original art, sea shells and other treasures from the sea. The sofa and chairs are covered in custom made slipcovers
  • The cottage was also featured in Southern Living Magazine. They loved the look of these slipcovered bar stools at the kitchen counter
  • Our kitchen features stainless steel kitchen appliances and custom made cabinets. We have every kitchen tool needed and if you don't have want you need, Mermaid Cottages Guest Services is a phone call away!
  • Our kitchen has everything you need to prepare everything you'd like to cook. We include cookbooks to give you some great suggestions. Hint- Shrimp and grits are the best you've ever made using Wild Local Georgia Shrimp from Tybee's shrimp docks!

  • The fully stocked kitchen includes a kitchen counter with three bar stools. The counter was made of the orginal siding from the cottage. The counter top is metal.

  • The 2nd bedroom on the 1st floor has a double bed. The two bedrooms on this floor share a "jack and jill" bathroom. A full bathroom with shower/ tub combination
  • The bedroom features orignal art from local artist Bellamy Murphy. The bedding is Pinecone Hill and beautiful shades of blue and green.

  • The 1st floor bathroom is a full bathroom. This is a jack and jill bathroom accessable via the two bedrooms on either side.
  • The stairs lead to the 2nd floor which is one very large room with nooks. There is a double bed and a queen bed upstairs. There is also a sitting room with cable tv and the 2nd floor bathroom
  • This view shows the door to the 2nd full bathroom and the seating area. Hardwood bamboo floors and no VOC paint make this a "green" upstairs. All the lights are unique chandeliers and lights.

  • This is the seating area between the two bedroom areas. This is like a tree house- beautiful view of the live oaks from a birds eye view!
  • Pillows all over the seat make for a very cozy seating area. The vintage shutters are part of our wall art .

  • The windows open and you can hear the birds sing you awake every morning. You can also see the live oaks outside the windows.

Welcome to Mermaid Manor!

Mermaid Manor has been featured in three national magazines on Cottage Style. Filled with Vintage and flea market finds ( Flea Market Style Magazine just did a story on us!). Fully renovated and freshly decorated, hard wood floors and local art everywhere. Located in the Back River Historic Distric- close to Alley 3 Kayak Lanch area and Fisherman's Walk Fishing Pier. 14th street beach is an easy 8 minute walk . AJ's Dockside restaurant is 1 block away. Downtown Tybee, shops and restaurants are an easy 10 minute walk as well. Free WiFi and tv's in three rooms. This cottage has charm and style in every nook and corner! 2013 - Check out our new, enclosed back porch! Complimentary off-street parking for 3 cars.

    Honestly I vote Tybee more fun than savannah during st Patrick's weekend. The house was in walking distance of downtown Tybee and the beach it was absolutely perfect!!! But I would recommend staying more than two nights.

    All I can say is that Mermaid Manor exceeded my expectations in every way. The historic house has been lovingly restored and beautifully maintained - just a fabulous treasure of a place. The location is in a quiet historic neighborhood on the southwest corner of the island - great for walking, running, and getting a feel of Tybee Island. Walking distance to good restaurants and the beach. The managers were friendly, accommodating, and helpful in every way. Just a wonderful, wonderful experience.

    We had a wonderful girls weekend at the Mermaid Manor - 8 of us fit comfortable in the house. The only thing I would change is the checkout time, it's hard to get 8 girls packed and house cleaned by 10am!

    We had a great time staying in the very sweet Mermaid Manor. The house was very well-equipped with everything we needed, beds were super comfy, plenty of space for our two families to spread out, and an easy walk to the beach. We were in town for a family reunion and while visiting relatives in their assorted condos and hotels on the beach, I couldn't help thinking that we had the best accommodations of everyone!

    Three friends and I came to Tybee for our yearly reunion. The house was perfect for us and made the trip one of our best ever. The decor was beautiful, and the furnishings were oh so comfortable. We enjoyed lounging with our morning coffee as well as our afternoon cocktails in the front sunroom. The furniture just begged us to relax and sprawl, which we did with great style. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms gave us each our space. I myself loved the tub in the upstairs bathroom - a rare luxury to soak and look out those beautiful windows. Diane was very gracious, and we enjoyed our chat with her. The neighborhood was wonderful. Overall, we can't say enough good things. Thank you so much.

    Mermaid Manor is truly as lovely as it appears in all the photos. Attention to detail and love of place were evident everywhere -- so much so that we spent most of our time there when on Tybee.     I imagine it would be impossible to not relax in this lovely home! The cottage was exquisite & our stay was made even better by the attentive Mermaid staff. They called to check on us after arrival & promptly brought us 2 items we requested. One showed up within 8min of me calling them! Talk about top notch service & everyone was so friendly :) We love Tybee & will certainly be booking Mermaid Manor again! The house was so clean & the location was perfect! We walked to restaurants, the beach & the fishing pier to watch the sunsets. We stayed with my parents & 2 small children & there was plenty of room for everyone to spend quality time together or each find our own quiet corners. The little girls LOVED the upstairs room & claw foot bath tub! Thank you, Mermaid Cottages! We can't get back up to Tybee soon enough :)

    This a darling little cottage. It was very spacious for the 5 members of our family. The girls loved the upstairs. They had their own little retreat. The front sun room was perfect for sitting in the quiet. The home was perfect for all of our needs. The fully furnished kitchen was great for preparing our meals when we didn't feel like going out. Perfect home away from home!
