  We stayed for a long weekend, and this home was perfect! It is close enough to restaurants and the beach that you can walk or ride a bike. But it is nestled in a quiet little neighborhood!   My family had a great time at a Sandy Toes, with two exceptions. The management company was very communicative, and extremely responsive. The property was clean, it was clear the home was well cared for. I liked that the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the living room, which added to privacy. A MAJOR problem was the mattress in the master bedroom. It was very bumpy and uncomfortable, clearly old an in need of replacement. A rough sleep each night dampened our stay. Additionally the back yard is rampant with poison ivy. I am so happy the neighbors took the time to let us know as we had two young children playing outside regularly. Those two issues need immediate attention. Other than that, the home is a short distance from the beach on a quiet street. Could be a great place to stay!

  We absolutely loved staying at Sandy Toes. There were plenty of beds and the kitchen was fully stocked for all of our snacking needs (we ate all meals out). The seating area was big enough for all of us to hang out and spend time together. We definitely used the beach towels and sand proof blankets left for us! Only recommendations - 2 mirrors are NOT enough for 8 girls to get ready with. Also, the quality and quantity of towels can always be improved!

  This place was lovely. From the fenced in back yard (to corral the little's) yard swing, outdoor shower, comfortable furnishings, and most important to me, it was clean. It was so nice to have a place to fix food, and put grandchildren down for naps that it made it super nice. Cottage was nicely equipped. My family kept telling me I hit a home run renting this place. Five minute short walk to the beach. We had to drive down to the downtown part where all the shops were, but that wasn't an issue. It was quiet and I felt safe. I enjoyed the cable tv and wireless internet as well. Nice parking as well. Also about 16 minutes drive to Historic Downtown Savannah. There was a nice playground about 2 blocks down for little kids also.

  Before I review the property, I have to begin by saying that I have never had better customer service than Mermaid Cottages - hands down. We were traveling with our three children - including our 6-week-old - and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They even delivered an heirloom rocking chair so we could make it through the dreaded "witching hour." They touched base with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed and were available to answer any questions.
  
  We were incredibly pleased with our visit to Sandy Toes. The home was comfortable and the perfect layout for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed and all the furnishings were top notch - no scratchy towels, cheap furniture or dollar store kitchen goods. It's clear that attention was paid to ensure guests truly feel at home at Sandy Toes.
  
  The only downfall of the property was the number of mosquitos. However, after having lived in Savannah for several years, we expected this given the rain and proximity to the water and planned accordingly.
  
  We will certainly be visiting Sandy Toes again!

  Surprised to find the cleaning folks there at 4:00 on Sunday afternoon. Received a call while driving in asking what the problem was w/the grill -- hadn't even seen the grill yet.   My husband,Jim,my mother and I spent 3 days at Sandy Toes cottage including New Year's and New Year's day.The always incredible Jan handled our reservation as a last minute request. Everything was spotless and ready for us.Sandy Toes is colorful and cheery,with a split bedroom plan so that we could be near my elderly mother, but also have some privacy. My mother wanted "home-cooking", so we made a New Year's feast for her. We really enjoyed the fact that the kitchen had many basic items such as silver ware,a complete set of dishes/pots and knives and not-so-basic items such as plastic wrap, aluminum foil, salt/pepper, oil, paper towels,hand towels, hand and dishwasher detergent as well as a blender and coffee set up.This cottage is a half block from a large public park, where I enjoyed walking with Theo, out Jack Russell mix pup. This visit was centered on spending time with my Mom, as she is elderly and spends most of her time inside. We really appreciated the games, TVs in the LR and both bedrooms and also having 2 full bathrooms. The master br has a hydro-jet/ jacuzzi style tub which was great for out travel weary bones! there are sitting areas outside in the front,and on the deck or old-fashioned swing in the backyard.There is even a fire pit for winter nights. I was able to get my mom out on New Year's Day and we both really enjoyed a ride around the island to view the Holiday lights. A stop at the famous Sugar Shack for a cone was included. My Mom and I grew up in Savannah and really appreciate how Tybee Island has become a true upscale tourist destination. Mermaid cottages has provided us with excellent service and a lovely experience overall. I recommend them to anyone looking for a coastal/beach escape and don't forget to ask for Jan. My Mom hasn't stopped talking about her stay and I look forward to a return visit in the summer of 2015.

  This was the very first time that we've ever rented a vacation cottage; and, Mermaid Cottages made the whole process effortless. When I had questions, I received immediate communications. We were within easy walking distance to Tybee Beach which was absolutely wonderful. We walked and walked and even rode bikes on the beach ... all 8 of us. We literally spent the whole day on the sands ... from 6:30 in the morning (to watch the beautiful sunrises) to 10:00 or so at night to watch the moon and stars. Our little vacation was wonderful. The cottage was very roomy ... even for 8. We were pleasantly surprised to find a little washer and dryer unit included. Would we return ... yes!

  We enjoyed our stay on Tybee Island. The cottage was clean and just a short walk to the beach. Wished there was a little more silverware available but found everything we needed in the kitchen. The IGA was also convenient. Vicki's on Tybee and Hueys in Savannah were some pleasant dining out experiences. Fort Pulaski and Tybee Ecological trips were some of our favorite side trips.

  My children and I spent close to a week at Sandy Toes Cottage the first week of August 2014. I have struggled with posting a review because we loved it so much I didn't want to let the secret out. But I realize Tybee and the Mermaid Cottages deserve every wonderful word written about them, regardless of whether it means my kids and I might have a hard time finding a vacancy in the future. ;)
  
  Our overall stay was just incredible. This was our first family vacation in over 10 years, and it didn't disappoint.
  
  The property itself was perfect - clean; stocked with all of the essentials (I know now I don't need to pack so many kitchen items); beach towels and mats. The decor was just what we needed - "Welcome to the beach." The best part of Sandy Toes is the LOCATION! Only three blocks from the beach - walking distance! We walked back to the beach every evening after dinner for a moonlit stroll - probably our favorite thing. The beach is so beautiful at night (and to die for under the sun). The cottage is located near the north end of Tybee, which is where we spent most of our time.
  
  We were there just one day before the kids started asking if we could return next year. Of course the answer is YES! An entire week with my kids was absolute heaven. Thanks Mermaid Cottages, Sandy Toes, and Tybee! We can't wait to see ya in 2015!

The location is fantastic easy access to both the ocean and the river. We rarely used our rental car as we walked or cycled. The cottage was decorated in a fun, bright style.   The location was good as far as cleanliness and property is a bit misleading on bedrooms. It lists 3 bdrms. I consider a bedroom a room where a person can access the bathroom without having to wake up others. The 3rd bdrm with the single and trundle is teeny tiny and you have to go thru the bdrm with the 2 doubles which has a sliding door that bangs when opening and closing. It may be good for toddlers/small children. There is no place to sit outside without constantly applying mosquito spray. I learned from this experience and will ask better questions the next round.

  We have been visiting Tybee Island every summer for the lady 9 or 10 years. In recent years, we have rented through Mermaid Cottages and can not day enough great things about them. This was our first stay at Sandy Toes. The location is about 3 blocks from the beach... an easy wall to a less crowded part of the beach. We also brought or dogs and the fenced back yard was ideal. The king size bed in the master was a plus, too.
